Debby Besford: The Boudoir of the Burlesque Performer

Debby Besford's work is characterised by an inquisitive and personal relationship with her subjects. A warmth percolates through her beautiful portrait scenes of brooding Spanish chicas, dizzy brides, playful lads and her own parents.

She will be exhibiting images from her recent publication 'The Boudoir of the Burlesque Performer', a lusciously printed exploration of dancers' private rooms and lives. Debby is currently working on a project about young offenders in France.

Besford has exhibited widely in the UK, including at the Wellcome Trust, Tate in the east, the South Bank, and Focal Point. Overseas exhibitions include work in Russia, Africa and France.

Alongside her artistic projects Besford teaches at Norwich University of the Arts and works as a free-lance photographer.
